Universitas 21 (U21) is a global network of leading research universities, of which UvA is a member, aimed at fostering collaboration, innovation, and global opportunities for students and staff. This year, Lund University in Sweden is hosting the U21 School for Sustainable Policy Leadership from 9–13 June, a programme designed for postgraduate students to develop impactful sustainability policies and build a network of future sustainability leaders. As such, the Green Office is working together with UvA’s U21 Officer to bring this opportunity to students interested in sustainability!
It is designed to equip postgraduate students from U21 member institutions with the knowledge and skills to develop impactful sustainability policies, cultivating a network of future leaders committed to driving sustainable development and policy innovation.

🌍 Keynote lectures & interactive workshops – Learn from leading sustainability experts.
🏛 Field visits & hands-on experience – Collaborate on projects tackling real-world sustainability challenges.

🎓 Who can apply? Postgraduate (Master and PhD) students from any discipline at UvA.
📅 Nomination deadline: 5 March 2025
🌍 Participation: Each U21 member institution may nominate up to two students.
💰 Costs: Programme costs are covered by U21 and Lund University. Limited travel grants are available. Further information regarding the programme, eligibility, accommodation, visas, and travel grant criteria can be found on the U21 website.

*U21 encourages the UvA to nominate students from underrepresented groups and those who have not previously had the opportunity to participate in an international experience. Shortly after the deadline, U21 will confirm acceptance of nominations. Nominees will be contacted directly with confirmation of their place and details on whether they have been awarded a travel grant.
